Can I speak with the Dr. Hershey over the phone instead of coming in for an appointment?
In order to make appropriate treatment recommendations, we need to establish a valid veterinary- client- patient relationship, so we will need to examine your pet and meet with you in person.
Will any tests be performed at the first visit?
In some cases, the information provided by your referring veterinarian is sufficient for us to proceed with a course of treatment.
In other cases, we may suggest additional staging tests to determine the general health of your pet and if there is evidence of cancer spread. Some of the tests can be done during your visit, while others may need to be scheduled for a different day.
During your visit we will discuss any additional staging needed, the costs, and when we would be able to perform these tests.
If chemotherapy is indicated, it may start on your first visit.
